2023 has been an extraordinary year for Mash Direct, marked by continued recognition and acclaim in the realm of culinary excellence. Our dedication to crafting superior products has been celebrated across numerous prestigious platforms throughout the UK and Ireland. This year, we’ve seen our innovative offerings, like the Beer Battered Onion Rings and Southern Fried Potatoes, earn top honors at events like Free From Ireland 2023 and the Blas na hÉireann Awards. Our commitment to quality and flavor was further validated with multiple accolades from the Great Taste Awards, bringing our total to an impressive 32 stars.

Not only have our products been lauded for their taste and quality, but our business initiatives have also garnered attention, with acknowledgments from the Belfast Telegraph Grocer Marketing Awards and being listed in the HM Homegrown One Hundred 2023. As we celebrate these successes, we’re also gearing up for future endeavors, promising that the coming year will be filled with innovation, growth, and, of course, more delicious, award-winning products. 2022 was a year marked by focused progress and meaningful recognition for Mash Direct. In the Great Taste 2022, we were proud to receive One Star ratings for our Chilli Baby Bakes, Skinny Fries, Champ, and Beer Battered Onion Rings, affirming our dedication to flavor and quality.

Our commitment to inclusive and delicious food was celebrated at Free From Ireland 2022, where we won a range of awards, including Gold for Skinny Fries and Potato Croquettes. Additionally, our Skinny Fries were recognized as a finalist at both the Grocer Product Awards and the Quality Food Awards 2022, showcasing their wide appeal.

In business achievements, Mark Allman was honored as Account Manager of the Year at the AF Blakemore Awards 2022, and we were listed among the Top 50 SMEs in Northern Ireland’s Homegrown. These accolades, though fewer, were a testament to our ongoing commitment and influence in the food industry, setting the stage for continued innovation and excellence.

2021 was another successful year for Mash Direct with both our products and our business being recognised at a range of prestigious awards across the UK and Ireland. Our Curry Chips, only launched in late Spring, were quickly recognised for their sensational flavour, becoming a finalist at The Grocer New Product Awards and commended at the UK Quality Food Awards. We went cosmic at the Great Taste Awards earning ‘1 star’ for not just one, but three of our signature products; Mashed Potato, Mashed Turnip and Green Cabbage.

We’ve also been acknowledged with a range of business awards, starting with Agri-food Company of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards and most recently winning Growing Business Awards Family Owned Business of the Year!

We’ll be kicking off next year as finalists in the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards and the Amazon Rural Business Awards, so watch this space – 2022 is going to be an exciting one!

2019 kicked off to a great start with our Peter Rabbit  Marketing Campaign picking up the Best Marketing Campaign at the Ulster Grocer Awards. After launching two years ago, our Beer Battered Chips won a Great Taste award taking our great taste tally to a total of 22 across our farm fresh range.

It was an unstoppable year for us winning two 2018 Great Taste Awards for our Signature Mashed Potato and Red Cabbage and Beetroot as well as being voted The UK’s Number 1 Branded Supplier in Fruit, Veg & Salads by The Grocer.

2017 was a phenomenal year for us at Mash Direct with the most award nominations and wins ever! The highlight for us has to be winning the Telegraph SME of the Year Award and getting to meet Mary Portas and Baroness Michelle Malone OBE.

Another great year of successes for Mash Direct. Our Crispy Vegetable Bakes won an International Innovation award coming all the way from Dubai and we were named the Overall Top Food Manufacturer in the UK!

Tracy Hamilton was given the prestigious honour of being named Outstanding Business Woman of the Year and we won several awards specifically for our products, ensuring that we are producing the highest calibre of dishes for our customers.

This was a stand-out year of success for our products with six of them winning awards for their perfect combination of innovation, taste and quality. We were also named the Best Family Business in the Ards Business Awards.

We were named the Most Innovative Small Food Manufacturer in 2013 as well as being voted the Best Brand by the Ulster Grocer. As well as this, Co-Founder, Tracy Hamilton, won the Agri-Business and Innovation Award from Women in Agriculture.

We were named as finalists for several awards in 2012 and won a prestigious award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing for one of our Sales Campaigns. Our products also scooped up their fair share with three Great Taste Awards being won!

Our Potato Cakes kicked off or award wins in 2011, winning the Best New Product Launch Award in the Ulster Grocer Food & Drinks Awards. Due to the growth of the company, we were also bumped up a grade in the Ulster Bank Awards from Best Small Company to Best New Product from a Large Company.

Not only did we win Small Business of the Year for the second year running in the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards but we also won a Silver Lapwing award for our efforts in helping to preserving the environment and conservation area around the farm.

We were named Best Family Run Business by Ulster Bank for two years in a row as well as winning the UTV Business Eye Award for Company of the Year!

Not only were we named Small Company of the Year in the Food Manufacturing Excellence Awards but we also won Family Run Business of the Year in the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award. Our Broccoli in a Cheese Sauce was awarded a Great Taste Award, another one to add to our collection.

A fantastic year for our products. We were awarded a Great Taste Award for five different products in 2007 as well as a Quality Food Award for our Carrot & Parsnip Mash.

After focusing on getting our products just right, we then looked to local awards such as the Belfast Telegraph and Ards Council to see if they loved our products. It turns out they did and we won both awards!

After only operating for a year, we were delighted that we won these two great awards for our products.
