We have some fantastic news to share! Mash Direct's Mashed Potato has just been crowned one of the best in the country, winning a national taste test conducted by one of the UK’s most respected food critics, Xanthe Clay. We couldn't be prouder to see our locally grown mash outshine fierce competition from some of the biggest supermarket brands across the UK.

In her feature in The Telegraph, Xanthe Clay praised our Mashed Potato for its "buttery, creamy texture" and "home-cooked taste." It's always been our mission to make vegetables taste just like they do at home, and to receive this recognition is a true testament to the care and passion that goes into every pack we produce.

This win means a lot not just for Mash Direct, but also for Northern Ireland's thriving food scene. Our CEO, Jack Hamilton, put it perfectly: "Our mashed potatoes have always been about staying true to tradition. We grow our own potatoes, carefully selecting varieties for the perfect texture and flavour, and combine this with the passion and dedication of a family business. To be recognised by a food expert of Xanthe Clay's calibre is a fantastic moment for us and for Northern Ireland."

With six generations of farming expertise, we pride ourselves on creating wholesome vegetable dishes that celebrate the very best of what our farm has to offer. From our family farm in County Down, we’ve always believed in staying true to traditional methods, which is why our produce tastes just like it’s been made in your own kitchen.

This latest recognition is yet another step forward for Northern Irish produce, putting us firmly on the map for quality and authenticity. Thank you to Xanthe Clay for shining a light on our farm-fresh potatoes, and thank you to all our wonderful customers who continue to support our journey.
